Pork Adobo
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork belly or pork shoulder, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- ⅓ cup light soy sauce
- ⅓ cup vinegar
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1 cup water or more as needed
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
Directions
- Heat oil during a giant frying pan; rotate to coat sides of skillet. Add pork items and cook till meat is brunet .
- Add garlic and sauté for a second. Add soy, vinegar, bay leaf, pepper and water.
- awaken a boil, cut back heat and simmer for forty five minutes or till pork area unit tender. (Watch it fastidiously. do not let it dry out.) Add water ½ cup at a time many times till pork meat is tender and also the desired quantity of sauce has been reached. Stir in honey or sugar.
- Serve over steamed rice.
